The Oakland Golf Club is 30 minutes south of Friendsville near Deep Creek. Fine golf course, not a high end resort experience, just good solid golf, parkland style. The course has been around since the 1930's, and from the back tees plays to 6,417 yards, par 71 with a 70.1 course rating and a 117 slope. Very fair layout, open enough off the tee, beautiful views through the valley, and is reasonably priced. It's routed over mostly level land, easily walkable, and most of the time you're playing for under $20. Always in good shape, the folks that operate the course take a lot of pride in it, and it shows in course conditions and service in the golf shop and clubhouse. Highly recommend.

Played Oakland and it was generally in excellent shape. One green had what appeared to be recently repaired damage from maintenance equipment. Snack bar was good but is scheduled to close for the season at the end of this week.
