The course plays from 5,297 yards from the red tees to 6,702 yards from the golds, with two shorter sets of tees. We generally play from the blues at 6,390 yards, 121 slope and 70.2 course rating, and it's all we need for 12 handicappers. There's water in play on seven holes, the fairways are lined with trees over rolling hills, it's a fun and challenging course to play. It's on the southwest side of Springfield on the MA/CT border, and maybe 30 minutes from Hartford. There's a few holes which are lined by some homes well off the course, the rest is open and natural or parallel fairways. The course was designed by Tom Fazio, one of his earlier designs, and is one of the better public courses to play in the area. Rates are a bit steep on the weekends, but it's very well maintained, the pace of play well managed, and nice clubhouse and facilities.
