Oak Island Country Club

Oak Island Golf Club is 30 minutes south of Wilmington in Caswell Beach. The course is a George Cobb design, running through a tightly packed real estate development, parkland style with tree lined fairways over level land with sand and water in play on half the holes. Semi-private course, the pace of play and conditions are generally well maintained, From the tips the course plays to a course rating of 72.7 and a slope of 128, and has three shorter sets of tees than the 6,655 yards from the back tees. The course is not updated to today's course standards, the clubhouse is dated, generally the whole place is a little tired and rough around the edges. Fair layout off the tee, mostly plenty of room, good sized greens and a modest amount of bunkering, straightforward hole design.
