The course is located at the Jeffrey Road exit #97 off the San Diego Freeway in Irvine. It was designed by Tom Fazio in 1996, as part of the Irvine Company development. The course is my top course in Orange county, a real Fazio beauty, well conditioned, playable, not overly penal if you're hitting reasonable shots, and very well conditioned. From the back tees, it's 6,834 yards, par 71, with a 72.2 course rating and a 132 slope. Nice wide fairways, lush conditions, the greens are good sized, fast, but fairly straightforward. The layout is challenging yet fun to play with a lot of different holes, and strategies to the green, which mostly are open in front. Pricey, even by Orange County standards, but in my mind it's worth it considering the other alternatives. Great management and staff, pace of play is very good. Highly recommended.

Decent course with nothing terribly exciting. Way too expensive - they really cater to the corporate crowd in Irvine. Staff is friendly but nothing special. Fairways and greens are usually in good condition, although this gets a little brown in the summer. For the money, I would play Tustin Ranch, Tijeras Creek, or Strawberry Farms.

The course is very straight forward. Basically no elevation changes on the course as the land used to be an orange orchard. The only difficulty comes when they let the rough grow out. I've played when the secondary was at least 6-8 inches tall. The greens are usually in good shape and roll pretty fast. Once you get a feel for the pace of the greens, they tend to roll pretty true.
