A little hidden gem of a course, a 9 holer designed by Alister MacKenzie in 1931 located in the Russian River area close to Bohemian Grove. McKenzie designed this course between Cypress Point and Augusta National as a private men's club couse. Eventually the course became open to the public, and it's a real treat to play, even though you're playing the same layout twice for an 18 hole round. It's fairly tight, but short at 5786 yards, 114 slope from the back tees, and a 67.8 course rating. The par 4's are short, and it you have precision, long driving skills, and a good short game, you will have the course record. Most, like me don't and you'll find the giant redwoods grabbing your ball, or missing the small greens a frequent occurance. It's a pleasure to play in a peaceful environment, even though it's along busy Hwy 116. Just to play a McKenzie course, for the purists is sweet!
