New South Wales Golf Club is a classic links course surrounded by National Park at Cape Banks on the northern headland of Botany Bay at an area called La Perouse, just on the southeast side of Sidney. It's an Alister Mackenzie design from 1926, playing to 6,245m with spectacular views out over the Pacific. The course is a links style design, but instead of traditional flattish land it's set amongst hills and valleys along the coastline at Cruwee Bay. The course is surrounded by water on three sides, and is quite challenging with the constant wind, undulating fairways, and smallish greens. It's also quite a thrilling layout providing numerous challenges, including half dozen blind shots, while inspiring one with great views. NSW has to be one of the best in Australia next to Royal Melbourne and The Australian, and must be a requirement to play if anywhere near Sydney.
