New Berlin Hills Golf Course is on the west side of Milwaukee, between Cleveland and Greenfield Roads in New Berlin. Great layout tucked in between several residential communities, but the homes are shielded by the trees lining the course. The original 9 holes here are from the early 1900's and operated as private club for years until the city bought it in the 1970's, and opened it up as a muni. Busy course and a good challenging layout with reasonable rates, just gets a lot of play. Classic course with tree lined fairways over rolling hills, and is easily walkable. It plays to just over 6,500 yards from the blue tees, 71.9/126, and from the white tees is 6,142 yards, 70.1/122 course and slope ratings. Small to mid-sized quick and undulating greens, a great set of par 3's, with the Root River running through 7 holes. A good test, conditioning not always top notch, and very busy and slow at times.
