Jack Nicklaus designed course 7,012 yards, 132 slope from the back tees, and a tough golf course. Typical Nicklaus design with wide fairways, strategic bunkering, undulating greens, and slightly rolling hills. There's plenty of room off the tee, the real challenge is on and around the green. If you can manage to get through the first five holes all right, you should do well here. The back 9 winds through some rolling hills with tree lined fairways, and is more tricky than the more straightforward front. Each hole is unique and provides various options to get the ball to the hole. The course is visually stunning with the tall pines, grassy swales, groomed waste areas and a variety of lakes and stream. I think the course is too hard for the average golfer. It is definitely interesting from a design perspective but the greens are treacherous, the bunkers many with some extremely deep, and the course is long.

Closing until March 2012 to replace the greens, looking forward to returning to the National, excellent and Nicklaus tough layout.
