The National course is a Tom Fazio design with three nines, Bluff, Cove, and Ridge, all playing to about the same yardages, slope, and handicaps of 7000/71.3/137, and their names typify the layout. Most of the courses wind through dogwood and pine tree lined fairways, and in the Spring would remind you of what Augusta might look like, therein the "National" name. Nice elevation change, several holes along Lake Oconee, and demanding design, especially on approach to the greens, and trying to read them. Overall, one of the must play courses here along with Oconee and Great Waters.

Always can count on Fazio for a great golf course design, and this one doesn't disappoint. Wasn't my favorite at Reynolds, that was Great Waters, but this is an excellent, channenging course in great shape, with beautiful views.
