Mountain View Golf Club

Mountain View is on the southeast side of Portland in Boring, off Kelso Road, halfway between downtown and Mt. Hood. Classic Northwest parkland style of layout with trees lining the fairways, with homes lining a few of the holes, but mostly natural borders. The course is short, just under 6,000 yards from the tips, par 71 with a 68.7 course rating and a 119 slope, designed by Jack Waltmire, and has been around as a staple for good basic golf since the 1960's. It's relatively inexpensive to play, crowded on weekends, but easy to get around in under 4 hours during the week. It's worth playing just to experience #12, 185 yard par 3, almost 200 yards straight down, a real trip to play.
