Mountain Glen is a fun course in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and is located just outside of Newland, NC on Hwy 194 toward Elk Park. The course was designed by George Cobb in 1963, and is a good 6723 yards from the back tees. Traditional course in valley setting with slight rolling hills and elevation change, but holes lined and bordered by stands of trees, but the landing areas fairly open. Greens are good sized and roll well, lightly bunkered, mostly around the greens, and a few water features. All for a reasonable price, much less than some of the other area upscale courses.

Every hole a picture, beautiful conditions, although the pace of play was rather slow.
