The Mount Juliet Golf Course is located within the Spa and Hotel complex in the rolling hills of County Kilkenny, 1 1/2 hours southwest of Dublin, 1 hour from Wexford, and 30 minutes from Waterford. It's a parkland style course designed by Jack Nicklaus and is well regarded in Ireland as one of the finest inland courses. The course is routed through rolling terrain alongside the River Nore, has a definite "American" feel to it with multiple tee boxes, bunkers throughout, and water hazards. There's also a short course here, par 53, 18 holes, and it's quite fun to play for working on the short game. The fairways are magnificent, and the greens, soft and true to the line. For me and my money, it's a fine course, but if I'm all the way over here in Ireland, I want to play every links course I can.

I stayed here on vacation in August and was fortunate to play the course on 2 days. Both days the course was in great condition even when it rained. I had a lovely snack on the 10th Tee, many thanks to Chris for the chat. Its a lovely venue and you feel like a Pro when you play here. Well worth the trip. In my Book - this is the Best Golf course in Ireland by far.
