Moorpark Country Club is located west of the I-5/405 junction, north of Simi Valley, and is a Peter Jacobsen designed course with 27 holes, and opened in 2002. Great views of the rolling land, out to the Channel Islands, and the Pacific from a couple of elevated tees. The course is routed through the canyons and citrus groves for three different and returning nines . The course is a good test of golf, but if you're off the fairways, the rough and brush are not real forgiving. The greens tend to be fast when not in transition, and are affected heavily by the slope of the terrain, in other words, slick downhill! Nice layout with great views around the course. The fairways were great, and well conditioned. There are a couple of blind shots, and I've found that overall, you need to play this course a couple of times to get the feel for the routing. Very enjoyable golf experience, always worth the time to get here. Vastly underrated.
