Millicent is a somewhat new golf course, about 30 minutes west of Dublin off the N-4 at the R-407, south to Clane. The course was designed by Tommy Halpin and borders the River Liffey on a couple of holes with the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains in the background. An overall solid golf course, enjoyable to play, excellent rates. We played it on our last day in Ireland, and it was convenient to head for the airport after the round. The course starts out with a couple of par 5s, the signature hole was a par 3 at 17, playing 198 yards played across water to a heavily bunkered green. Great course and all of the reports we'd heard about it were accurate, a really invigorating challenge to play on. Apart from the par 3’s no more than 2-3 greens are visible from the tee, it's a parkland style of design, a good break from links golf.
