Mill Creek is located in Franklin in a resort community, and is southwest of Asheville in the Appalachian foothills of Western North Carolina, two hours north of Atlanta. The course layout is in a valley at 2500 feet above sea level, surrounded by mountains. It's not an particularly outstanding upscale course, just a solid parkland style of 6167 yards from the championship tees, 115 slope and designed by Rick Robbins and Bruce Devlin. The layout is wide open with some elevation changes, and mostly straightforward. The greens are small to mid-sized, well guarded by bunkers, and water's in play on at least 11 holes in the form of creeks or ponds.
