Maggie Valley opened in 1963, and was designed by William Prevost Sr. with assistance by Emmett Mitchell. It's located in the Maggie Valley resort area off I-40 45 minutes west of Asheville. It's a mostly open and forgiving parkland style course with the front side playing through more level terrain in the valley, and the back gets up into the mountains with a total elevation change of 800 feet. Very well maintained, old classic mountain course with thick tree lined bluegrass fairways, playing to bentgrass greens which are average sized and speed, and is 6336 yards, 121 slope from the back tees.

This is a great golf course. The front nine lays in a valley and is flat. The back is hilly and more demanding.Fairways are wide.I have never experienced a more satisfying place to play than Maggie Valley c.c.If you get to the area be sure to put in on your list of places to play.
