Maderas is just off the I-15 north of San Diego near Rancho Bernardo. A wonderful golf course in both conditioning and design, but very expensive. It was designed by Johnny Miller and Robert Muir Graves, in the late 1990's, and plays to 7113 yards, 145 slope, and a 77 course rating. Nice scenery,and routed through the rolling hills, along cliffs, rock outcroppings, creeks and tree lined fairways. The greens are medium size, fast, with good undulations. Other than Torrey Pines, this is the top course in San Diego. .

I was at maderas a month ago and it was in terrible shape. If I am going to pay for 100 dollar a round course it better be in good shape.
