Locust Hills is just about a mile west of Charles Town on Middleway Pike, about an hour or so from the northern DC suburbs, just a half hour from Winchester, or Leesburg, Virginia, and Hagerstown or Frederick, Maryland. The course is routed through a housing community here, and aside from the homes lining the golf course is enjoyable to play, and reasonably well maintained. It's probably the best course and value in the immediate area. The course was designed by Ault Clark in the early 1990's, and plays to 7,000 yards from the back tees, 128 slope, 73.5 course rating, but has three other tee boxes. Good variety of holes, some water in play, on maybe half the holes, and well bunkered. Don't expect the typical DC area high end daily fee type experience and course, and you won't be disappointed.

I live in Winchester, and this course is not all that far, one of the nices courses in the general area. Always in good shape, especially the greens, challenging design, fair to the mid-handicapper.
