Loch Nairn is in Avondale, just south of Kennett Square on the north side of US 1. The course has been around since the 1970's, designed by H.C.Smedley and is a good, solid parkland layout with good use of elevation changes, but still walkable. Course is relatively short at 6203 from the back tees, but is very tough, with a 133 slope, which is well earned. Generally in good shape unless there's been a lot of rain, as it doesn't seem to drain all that well. Tee boxes were in nice shape; fairways were good; rough was pretty long and punishing; bunkers were thin and unpredictable. The greens are medium large, with modest contouring, and somewhat slow. Warm up before you come out, there's no practice range here.
