Liphook is a heathland course of the highest quality, a little over an hour south of London on the A3, about 30 minutes north of Portsmouth. The course was originally designed by Arthur Croome in the 1920s, with some redesign work by Tom Simpson The course winds its way among the trees and heather, a very strategic layout, with always excellent greens. It plays to just over 6,100 yards with a SSS of 69, and is most challenging, especially if your tee ball isn't cooperating, as placement off the tee is paramount to scoring well, in addition to a solid short game. Very proper clubhouse and facilities, first class locker room, members friendly, but a bit reserved. An excellent collection of par 3s, short par 5s where you can gain some ground, and long par 4s. Some of the best greens you will find in Hampshire.
