Lincoln Oaks Golf is an old classic, it opened in the 1920's, was designed by Tom Bendelow who also did Medinah and Olympia Fields. The course is short at 6,186 yards from the back tees, 69.0/120 course and slope ratings, and will test your short game more than anything else. It's a parkland style of layout with tree lined fairways routed through an established rural, neighborhood in Crete, just south of Chicago Heights. Great test of course management with tight fairways and postage stamp greens. Reasonable greens fees, generally in good shape, especially the greens, and a must play if you're a fan of the old, traditional layouts. It's a little different than most with 6-par 3's, and 5-par 5's, there's water in play on only two holes, and bunkering on most holes. Straightforward and playable if you keep it between the trees!
