A reasonably priced links course 30 minutes south of St Andrews, Scotland, an Open qualifier, on the Firth of Forth overlooking Edinburgh, and plays to 6,506 yards par 71 from the medals. Like the Old Course and many other links courses, you need to play this a couple of times to appreciate the hole strategies. It was in reasonably good condition, and for the price a bargain in the area. The fairways and greens tend to stay hard and run fast, and are slightly undulating, but fair. The rough was down this summer due to the lack of rain, but can range depending on conditions. Overall the layout is tight, and some holes long, and has a great finishing hole ala Carnoustie. Would recommend to all as an alternative to the big ticket courses in Fife.
