Legen Oaks is 30 minute northwest of Charleston in Summerville off Highway 61 and located on the site of a former rice plantation. Nice straighforward, parkland course of 6900 yards, 135 slope designed by Scott Pool. Unfortunately, they've ruined the course aesthetics by the housing here, and if you can keep the visual and noise distractions from the homes out of your mind, it's actually a solid course. It's a tight course with water in play on 14 holes, trees lining and bordering the fairways, and plenty of sand. The greens are well guarded, there's a number of doglegs, and it's really more of a shot placement course than anything else. Conditions were just OK the last couple of times I played here.

My expectations of Legend Oaks were quite high and most of these expectations were realized. The design was fabulous, the staff was sincere, and everything else was great except for the condition of the course. The fairways had an abundance of divots and the greens had so many pich marks that were not repaired that it was a travesty. I loved the Layout on this property and I will definitely be back at least 1 more time. Hopefully, they'll repair the fairway & green problem before I return.
