A Jack Nicklaus II designed course playing to 7018 yards, 133 slope from the back tees. It was a good solid layout, reasonably priced for the Pinehurst area, and had the Nicklaus feel to it, lots of traps, good length, and the use of water throughout. Greens were on the large side, with good undulation, and somewhat fast. The fairways are rolling and pine tree lined, and seem open, save for a couple of holes. Reasonably good condition, and a nice warm-up to other courses in the area.

They just switched from bentgrass to Bermuda at Legacy, and the greens are good for just reopening. It's such a straightforward course that was playable, fun, but challenging, with the best set of par-3 holes I've experienced
