The Lake Worth Golf Club is on the west side of the Intracoastal just north of the Lake Worth Bridge. It's a short layout, par 70, 6,120 yards, 686./116. It originally opened in the mid-1920's as a 9 hole course, designed by William Langford and Theodore Moreau, Dick Wilson added a new 9 holes and redesigned the overall layout in the 1950's. The course has nice views of the Intracoastal, is easily walkable, and the rates are fair, even in the season. It's busy, but they seem to manage play for a 4 hour round. Old Florida style layout, scattered palm trees lining the fairways, a good amount of sand, interesting and varied holes, and a nice change of pace from the high priced daily fee courses in the area.

Scenic layout running alongside more a mile of the Intracoastal Waterway, most of the holes are parallel to the Intracoastal, it has a very inviting look to it, and you get a nice breeze, even on a hot day. The city maintains the course very well, it’s always in good shape. It’s obviously not as long as a championship course, but you have to be able to hit the ball off the tee to get around, especially if you want to score well. This course forces you to know your game, and if you think you can just go out there and hit, you’ll be in for a surprise. Having the Intracoastal on the side certainly catches your attention because you obviously don’t want to hit your ball into the water, and there are a good number of green-side bunkers. The greens aren’t particularly wide either, and many of them are actually pretty narrow. It’s a fun place to play and it’s challenging enough for the average, weekend golfer. it has its fair share of traps and water, but there aren’t any forced carryovers, so that helps makes it more manageable. It is also one of the few courses in the area that allows golfers to walk, which for me is the best part of the game.
