Laguna Seca is east of Monterey, on the Monterey-Salinas Highway, just a couple miles east of the Monterey Airport. The course was designed in 1970 by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr. Great course and excellent practice facility at less than half the cost of the other higher profile Monterey area golf courses. The layout is over rolling hills, very scenic, and is far enough inland to get away from the marine layer which socks in most of the coastal courses. It's a challenging course with narrow and sloping fairways, plenty of bunkering, and uphill/downhill doglegs, you really need good course management skills to score here. The golf course was in great shape the last time I played, greens are usually their highlight here, and the practice range is and excellent place to hang and hit a couple of buckets. Stick around for a sandwich after the round, the food here is good.

Good challenging course which is well maintained and looked the part. The club house is better than most private courses, worth the extra drive from the city to play, but expensive.
