Lafayette is located just south of Syracuse in Jamesville, and is a parkland type of course, tree lined and rolling fairways, fairly well bunkered, mostly greenside, and no water hazards. The course is 6,586 yards, 132 slope from the tips, par 71 designed by A.W. Tillinghast and Seymour Dunn. in the 1920's. Fairly straightforward course, couple of doglegs, but mostly straight holes, parallel fairways, with small and quick greens.

Tis is a dynamic rolling property with several really interesting holes. Yes, it needs some loving care. Yes, some of the hazards have probably disappeared. And yes, not every hole will be a photographer's dream. The back and forth on the front nine is a bit tedious, but the back nine is pretty neat. With some work, it could even be one of the best in its area.

Course was finally starting to green up a bit from the long winter. Conditions were a little soggy in the fairways from the recent rains, but the greens were in good shape, albeit a little slow. Always enjoy playing this golf course, the setting is very nice, the course, fair and challenging, and reasonable greens fees.

Just recently announced they were going private next year. Seems like a tough time to be returning to a private club, maybe they'll still allow outside play.
