Located in the Channel Islands, 80 miles off the southeast coast of England, only 15 miles from the Normandy coast in France. Seems like it should belong to France. The course is situated on barren headland 250 feet above St. Ouen's Bay, and was originally designed in 1902 by George Boomer, with revisions by James Braid, Henry Cotton, and David Melville. It's a links style course even though it's not level with the sea. The soil is sandy and drains well, and there's the usual rumpled fairways of links style, but they're more narrow than wide open. It's lightly bunkered with 30 or so bunkers, and measures 6,411 yards, par 72 from the regular markets. It's a gorgeous setting with views galore, and an interesting location to visit.
