King's Deer is south of Denver in Monument, 2 miles east of exit 163, routed through a sparsely developed area of homesites. It's an open links course with rolling hills, wetlands, with wide open views of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains. From the tips it plays to 6,400 yards, 136 slope, the fairways are bordered by tall fescue grasses, and will provide an additional stroke if you find yourself offline. It's a very challenging course, with the water and sand, and constant wind, with each hole being somewhat unique, and mostly straightforward. It was designed by Redstone Golf and can be played from 5054 yards from the forward tees to nearly 7000 yards. The front has better views, the back is a better golf course with all the change in elevation, but for the most part it's mostly flat. It's very convenient to the Denver area, and a less costly alternative than Bear Dance or Castle Pines, generally in good shape with a good pace of play.

The layout uses the natural layout changes to perfection. The elevation changes and the contours of the fairways create some very challenging shots. The course is in great shape and pace moved along. The practice facility was OK.
