The Key West Golf Club is on Stock Island, the next island east of Key West. Probably wouldn't we able to develop this course today given the environmental standards and protected areas in the Keys. The course has been around for a while but was redesigned in 1983 by Rees Jones. It plays to 6,512 yards long and from the back tees plays to a par 70, 74.1/134 ratings. It has 51 bunkers, greens seeded with SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum, and water just about on every hole. It's a private club, but open to public play. The golf course was in nice condition, nice folks in the golf shop, and was enjoyable to play, except for the amount of water lining the holes, bring a lot of balls. It's really the only choice for golf in the Keys, except for an executive style course, Key Colony Beach in the Middle Keys.
