Two spectacular golf courses here, an hour from Banff or Calgary in the Kananaskis Valley. Playing either course, Mount Lorette or Mount Kidd is a real treat, especially in the late afternoon. The greens fees are extremely reasonable here, and the layout fabulous. Both courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr and have beautiful mountain views throughout the golf course, with plenty of Jone's trademark sculptured bunkers, water in play, either creeks or ponds, or the Kananaskis River on 20 of the holes, and wildlife galore. Either course can be played from 5,500 to 7,100 yards depending on your level of play, and Mt Kidd seemed to be the more forgiving of the two course. Both courses play through the river valley for the most part, but there is some elevation change and elevated tees, making for a great experience overall.

Played both courses here. Beautiful layouts, spectacular setting, big fairways, challenging layouts through the pine forests along the river. One of our favorites was the par 3 4th on the Mt Kidd course, whichs drops down onto an island green. The courses both ate my lunch, but the experience overall was outstanding
