Wildfire is off the 101/Pima Freeway in north Phoenix at Tatum at the JW Marriott. There's a slight break on greens fees if you're staying at the hotel, but it's still expensive to play here. Two golf courses here, one designed by Arnold Palmer, the other Nick Faldo and Curley/Schmidt. The Faldo course plays to 6,846 yards, par 71, 71.2/125 ratings. The Faldo course is more wide open off the tee, and on approach to the greens than the Palmer course with the McDowell Mountains as a backdrop and saguaro cacti lining the fairways. The Palmer Course is fairly open as well, but plays a little tougher, at 7,170 yards, 73.3/135 ratings, You can't go wrong with either golf course, resort style, forgiving play, excellent conditions, and Marriott service.

Many, many, many sand traps. Fortunately they were full of sand and there was plenty of room to avoid them if you had reasonably accurate tee shots and irons. More intimidating than actually intrusive. Excellent restaurant; my playing partners raved about the food. Only negative for me was that all the holes all were very similar, at least to me, and did not have much in the way of elevation changes or a particularly nice view. Can’t complain about the course conditions because they were outstanding, especially for this time of yea Flag Content
