Jay Peak is a winter resort for skiing, but also has a great golf course for the short summer. It's located in far northern Vermont, just a few miles south of the Canadian border, between I-87 & I-91. The course is a pure mountain course experience in the Green Mountains, and was designed by Graham Cooke, playing from 5,000 yards to almost 7,000 yards. The front side is routed along the base of Jay Peak and around the Jay Branch Brook, while the backside runs up into the West Bowl area with some good change in elevation. Very difficult course, some forced carries, small, hard, and fast greens, sloping and hilly fairways, and trees, it's got it all in the way of hazards. You won't likely shoot your handicap here, at least on the first time playing the course, but you'll enjoy the beautiful setting, no crowds, and superb golf course!
