The Isleta Eagle golf course is part of the Isleta Casino, about 10 miles south of Albuquerque, you might have seen it on approach or takeoff from the Albuquerque airport a couple miles north. The course has 27 holes, routed open and links-like through the Rio Grand river valley here next to the casino, and are named Lakes, Arroyo, and Mesa after the land they're routed over. A little expensive for the area, but weekdays is lower, nicely maintained, one of the better courses in town. The Lakes Nine plays down off the mesa slopes around two large with 7 of the holes along the lake. The Mesa is the better layout with Mount Taylor and the Rio Grande as the background, and is routed over and around washes and mesas. .The Arroyo is routed around a big mesa arroyo, and has the best views of the three courses, and is most dramatic. All nine-hole layouts are par 36, with any two combinations adding to at least 7000 yards. The Mesa/Lakes is 7572 yards, 134 slope from the Championship tees; the Arroyo/Mesa is 7,277 yards, 128 slope, and the Lakes/Arroyo is 7,195 yards, 130 slope, all were designed by Bill Phillips. You can always count on good conditions here, and the pace of play always seems to be fairly good.
