On the Jurassic Coast near Swange in Dorset, great views across Poole Harbour towards Bournemouth and Wareham. It is difficult to beat Isle of Purbeck for the views, the wind, the gorse and some strong two shotters make it a decent challenge. It's somewhat short at 6300 yards, par 70 course. and they have a nine holer, the Dene course to warm up on, but the Championship course is the one to play. The Club dates back to 1892, with design work by H.S. Colt, and is built on heathland within a nature reserve. The views are the course's strength, as the layout and conditions are a bit on the weak side. Other better quality courses in the area would be Ferndown or Parkstone.
