Island Green is 20 minutes southwest of Springfield, just south of Republic on CR P, and yes the course has an island green, the par 3-15th. The course is routed around an upscale residential development, but the homes don't come into play on the course. It's a fun layout, can play from 5,100 yards to 7,000, where the ratings are 72.9/129, and designed by Jerry Slack. Nice out of the country feel to it, the layout is over rolling hills with water in play on several holes, light bunkering, blind tee shots and approaches to the greens, which keeps you guessing. Conditions are somewhat spotty, but for the rate, it's about what you'd expect.
