Ironwood Golf Course is a muni, owned and operated by the city of Gainesville. It's off NE 39th Street, east of town on the way to the airport. It's a tough and tight tree lined course through a pine tree forest over level land, and is always challenging to play. They've recently spent some money renovating the course and facilities, and it's generally in good shape, although it doesn't drain all that well with so much water on the course. It's been around since the 1960's, designed by David Wallace, has four sets of tees from 5,100 yards to the tips which play to 6,465 yards, 71.3/122. Very reasonable rates, and walkable, well managed course, generally with a beverage cart.
