Indian Creek is off the Frankford exit of I-35 in Carrollton, 30 minutes north of downtown Dallas. Two 18 hole championship courses here, originally designed by Brad Benz and Dick Phelps in the mid 1980's, but redesigned by Jeff Brauer, who did the Cowboy's course, a few years ago to bring them up to date. Both courses get a lot of play, but they maintain the pace of play fairly well. The Creek is $10 more expensive than the Lakes, but both are definitely worth playing. The Lakes is 7000 yards, 129 slope, the Creek is 7235 yards, 135 slope both from the championship tees. The courses are routed along the Trinity River, and the Creek Course is parkland style of course with good sized fairways at the landing zones, heavy tree lined fairways, and well bunkered. The Lakes Course, is more traditional layout with trees, doglegs, ponds, and good sized greens. A few risk reward shots, and overly very challenging. Well taken care of courses, reasonable greens fees for the Dallas area, and one of the better courses in town.
