Indian Canyon, was designed in 1930 by H. Chandler Egan and from the back tees only plays to 6,255 yards with a course rating is 70.7 and it has a slope rating of 126. The course is on the west side of Spokane, and is a city operated facility, and is a reasonably priced course and a stern test. Not sure whether the 126 course rating was accurate for me as I was in the trees a lot here. It was in very good condition, and has good elevation change and tree lined fairways through the course. It has and continues to be one of the main venues with USGA and PGA tournaments in the general area and is very well regarded. The course routing is on a canyon wall with a vertical drop of 240, and provides a good number of challenges through the fairways, not the mention the small, well bunkered, and fast greens. Course management and shotmaking are the keys here, but a reasonably priced alternative to the other higher prices courses in the resort areas around here.

Indian Canyon is an interesting and fun golf course, with a good variety of holes. Only the 6th and 8th holes made me feel like I was faced with a redundant challenge to play. Tight, tunnel like corridors of trees for fairways, small greens, everything's a small target here.
