House On The Rock Resort

House on the Rock is about an hour west of Madison near Helena. Twenty seven holes here, the Springs course, a Robert Trent Jones Sr design, and the North nine, designed by Roger Packard and Andy North and has good elevation change, and really a lot more fun and interesting than the Springs. The Springs is a parkland style course routed through the valley floor here, tight fairways, small to mid sized greens, well guarded by bunkers, and overall a very challenging layout well maintained. Nice mix or open holes and tree lined ones, doglegs, and water on almost every hole, plays to 6500 yards from the tips. You don't have to stay here to play here, not even sure if rates are better if you do, but it's not a bad drive from Milwaukee, and worth it to come here for 27.
