Hound Ears Club

Hounds Ears is a resort, community with overnight accommodations near Blowing Rock, Boone and Banner Elk, and you need to be a guest to play golf here. The development is named after dog-eared-looking rock formations in a mountain ridge above the course. Wonderful golf course, very well maintained with tree lined fairways, some extremely narrow. The front nine is the most difficult with tight fairways and elevation change while the back is over the valley floor, then moving up into the forest. It was designed by George Cobb with later revisions by Tom Jackson and plays to 6327 yards, 122 slope. The greens are mid sized, fast and undulating, and somewhat raised. Very enjoyable course and atmosphere, extremely well maintained.
