Honeybrook is south of Morgantown and the PA Turnpike and northwest of Downingtown, about 45 minutes from King of Prussia. The course plays to 6300 yards from the back tees, par 70, and a slope of 128, and was designed by James Blaukovitch. It has a wide open front nine and wetlands constricted fairways on the back nine, nice course to play. Kept in nice condition, usually a good pace of play, links style on a lot of holes with the greens open at the front for the bump and run. Nice elevation change and routed through some wetland area and creeks. Challenging, but not too difficult, located in the middle of the Amish farm land.

From the time I arrived and saw the "barn-like" clubhouse I had a feeling this was a unique place. The course is a Par 70 with a rating/slope of 70.1/123 (from the tips) and isn't too long, playing 6,341 yards. What the course lacks in length, it makes up for with accuracy. Playing the first 4 holes, you expect this course to be wide open and start to think about hitting driver every hole. As you approach the 5th hole, it begins to change. The course starts to narrow using a few tree and marsh lined holes to challenge your tee shots. It requires more accuracy and less power. The greens are in excellent condition and don't have many surprises. I would get a few putts in prior to the round to get the speed right, I had trouble with it all day. You won't find any big undulations, but a few slippery downhill putts can cause some problems. The unique layout continues with a few short par 4's and long par 3's (I'll discuss these below). The short par 4's make you pay special attention to club selection. The 14th hole is a par 4 playing 314 from the tips. It's guarded by a creek on the right side and woods on the left, a short forced carry to a small landing area is your only bailout. The 16th hole is a 280 yard par 4 with a bunker guarding the front of the green, OB right and hazard long. It's a classic risk reward hole. The Par 3's The course offers 5 par 3's, 2 on the front and 3 on the back. The shortest is the 13th hole, a 168 yard par 3 with woods lining the left side. The 10th hole is the longest playing at 227 yards. I hit my hybrid here and was pin high. They add in two par 3's playing 185 (the 3rd & 17th) while rounding it out with the 8th hole, a 212 par 3 with 190 yards of carry, bunkers guarding the green and hazard on the right side (You can also find a Pro V1 with WAM Golf in that hazard. As I mentioned you'll see some pretty unique scenery out in Amish Country. If you have never been, it's really fun. The 12th hole is a 561 yard par 5 playing downhill. A couple things made this hole fun. The selling of golf balls based on the honor system and the cow pasture which is OB on the left. I was also fortunate enough to see two horse and buggy carriages come by while standing on the 15th tee box and a hot air balloon in the distance early in the morning. It was scenic and entertaining. The 15th green is also next to a horse farm. I think this course is worth the $67 I paid to play Saturday morning. It included range balls and the cart. The conditions were excellent and the course layout was fun. I recommend playing here if you have a chance. The unique scenery, excellent conditions and fun layout make this a course you should play. I plan on playing it again this summer. Review at Wam Golf
