Holyoke CC is an old New England classic. The course is well over 100 years, not sure who designed it, but it's a step back in time, and in excellent condition. It's about 20 minutes north of Springfield, exit I-91 at the Pleasant Street exit, the south on Route 5/Northampton St to the golf course which adjoins I-91 on the west side, opposite the Connecticut River. Just a 9 holer, but good for a quick round if you're traveling through the area, or go round twice for 18 holes. Parkland layout with a good blend of open holes and some tree lined. It plays to 3,700+ yards from the back tees with a 69.0 course rating and 118 slope, there's water in play on 3 holes, a few bunkers, and mid-sized greens which were in excellent shape. Not to be confused with Mt. Holyoke College course, The Orchards, which isn't open to public play. This is a nice alternative if you're in the area.
