Hillandale is a good value and alternative to the high end public golf courses around Durham, the only problem is that it gets a lot of play. It was originally designed by George Cobb, and is located north of the Duke Campus and west of downtown Durham on Hallandale Road. It's a traditional type of layout with tree lined fairways, a stream running through the middle of the course, more target type golf, but generally plenty of room off the tee. It's only 6,300+ yards from the tips, the white tees are right at 6,000 yards, 69.0/118 course and slope rating.
