Hickory Valley is north of Pottstown in Gilbertsville, and has two 18 hole courses, the Presidential, and the Ambassador. The Presidential is 6700 yards from the back tees with a 133 slope and was designed by Ron Pritchard. The front nine is a little more open and linksy and much more forgiving off the tee, while the back is parkland style with narrow tree lined fairways and smaller greens well guarded. $20 more expensive than the Ambassador, not sure it's worth it, cause the Ambassador is a good course in it's own right. It's only 6400 yards from the tips and 116 slope, but it will test you as well. It's more of a classic parkland style of course where shot placement is more important than distance. Bot courses are extremely well maintained, and a pleasure to play. Good guest service in the clubhouse and on the course, and the rates are fair for this level of a facility.
