Hickory Ridge is a city owned and operated course on the southeast side of Carbondale. Nice parkland style course with tree lined fairways and water in play on 7 holes. From the back tees it's 6900 yards, 137 slope, and was designed by Bill Spear in the early 90's. Forgiving mostly off the tee, challenging course on the approach to the greens, well conditioned and fair.

Enjoyable golf course, played in the late afternoon with the rain spitting. Pace of play was excellent, there was practically no one on the golf course. Conditions were just OK, they seemed a bit dry, and the greens weren't as good as they could be. Nice practice range, the only one around. Fun layout, but very long, and challenging, especially a couple of holes.
