Heritage Oaks is on the west side of Harrisonburg, just off I-81 at exit 245. The course is a muni, owned and operated by the City of Harrisonburg, so rates are low, conditions are usually fair, and it gets a lot of play. The course was designed by Bill Love, and plays from 4,500 yards to 6,300 yards with a 69.3 course rating and 121 slope from the black tees. The course layout is more open and forgiving on the front, where birdies are plentiful, but the back side through the trees generally extracts what you gained on the front side. It's a lower cost option to play here vs Lakeview, but not the same quality of the course or facilities.
