The North, South, and East Nines at Grand Cypress were designed by Jack Nicklaus along with the New Course, a total of 45 holes here. Three very good nines, all about the same type of play. The greens here are the course's major defense, humpy, fast, like McCord says, a couple of elephants buried here, and they use bikini wax! There's a good amount of water, fairway and greenside bunkers, and is a shotmakers course. There is plenty of room off the tee, but the approach shots are multi-dimensional. Some times they're elevated, like #6 on the South, probably 20 feet above the fairway! Some are surrounded or bordered by water, and all of them have bunkers. It's all a good test of golf, I don't think I would favor any of the nine's. The north was recently renovated, but I'm not sure there's a whole lot of drastic changes made, more of an updating. All in all, a great golf experience. You could, and should spend the day here...the New, North, South, and East. Food service and guest service is excellent. Will always return. Much better than any of the Disney courses,

We played the North/South combo from the Men\'s back (not the championship tees) at 6500 yards with a 72.0/131 rating and slope. The course is designed by Jack Nicklaus. Normally, I\'m not a huge fan of Nicklaus courses, but this one really caught my attention. A beautiful set up, very challenging but fair, excellent & exceptionally fast greens. Water and bunkers are strategically placed and not just for looks. The entire place was nice to be in. The club house is beautiful, with good locker room and pro shop. The bar and restaurant area are very classy with good food and drinks. Expensive as one would expect for a top notch resort, but not over the top in any way. Everyone was terrific in the service department. They list the place as private, but actually its a call in for a tee time deal. If you can splurge, or find someone else to pay for it, this is a course you want to play. Flag Content
Played the South and East today, and for the first time mastered the South at a 38.Didn't play all that much better, just got the right bounces that allow me to score. The golf course was in awesome shape, greens were perfect, pace of play was just at 4 hours, played on the member's rate at $41, and won a $14 skin. Couldn't ask for a better day! Flag Content
Played the North, then South, thank goodness the North gave us a chance to warm up, the South course is a killer, mostly the greens, at least 6 extra putts on the backside. Course was in outstanding shape, challenging, the South almost penal. Pace of play on the front was 1 hr 45 minutes, the back 2 hr 15 minutes, so very good overall. Great guest service, and played on a member's rate at $41. All square on the Nassau game, so all in all a great day. Flag Content
Played the South and East today, greens were in excellent condition, as was the rest of the course. The South is so unfair once you're on the green, you can be playing tee to green well, but then three putt every green due to the undulations and some tight pin placements, and some generally unfair holes. Pace of play was 5 hours today after teeing off in one of the first groups at 8 am, two foursomes in front of us held up the whole day, and never a ranger in sight. Flag Content
Pace of play excellent, greens were perfect and fast, course was extremely challenging, mostly when you got on the green, or tried to. The pin positions, and speed of the greens caused many a three-putt, even for our 6 handicapper. Frustrating to hit the ball well off the tee, and then not have a go at par. Flag Content
In town for a long weekend and played at Grand Cypress New Course. With some early cloud cover and a bit windy, I really felt like I was in Scotland. Fun place to play. Really enjoyed the layout and the conditions were pretty darn good (played from the tips). I'd love to see the place in warmer seasons with the whole place green. The wind made it a major challenge but I birdied three of the four par fives and had my best round in a while. We were pressed for time and didn't get in another 18 but we did play another 9. We played the east course and the wind just continued to blow. It was a great challenge and we suffered scoring wise but still great fun. Look forward to going back there to try out the rest of the course. Flag Content
Played the North and South. The golf course was in great shape, greens were immaculate, but treacherous on the South as always. Not my favorite side here due to the difficulity of the greens, always means a half dozen 3 putts, almost impossible to avoid. Had a funny experience at check in, they have two cashiers and check in two at a time. So I'm next to Rich Lerner who's to the right of me. He steps up to the counter and the guy at the register says, what's the name. Lerner steps back with his arms out and says Rich Lerner, the Golf Channel, like the guy behind the desk should have known him, and then acted like the arrogant bum he is and huffed his way out of the golf shop. Unfortunately, we had to follow him on both sides, he and three other guys from the Golf Channel. You would have thought this was the final round of the Masters. They took an incredible amount of time on the greens, we waited on every hole for them to clear. On their shots, they'd pose and watch for the ball to stop, like a camera was following their every move. We weren't impressed. I guess these guys think they're the golf elite, but they played like Six Pack Joe, all over the course. Flag Content
Played the East and South today, teed off at 8:00, finished by 11:45..nothing better than a quick round, except a quick and well played round which I didn't experience. The course was in great shape. The South is just a bear, no pun intended to the designed, the greens are like what you might imagine Augusta might be, elephants burried under the greens throughout, hard, slick and fast, almost impossible. Then moved over to the East course, it was like playing a different course, the greens were just as fast, but more subtle breaks. The South is just no fun, you can hit a great shot to the green, and have it hit one of the humps and bounce off, or end up 40 feet away. Flag Content
Played the East and newly opened North. Excellent pace of play...under 4 hours, great conditions, the fastest greens I've seen in Florida. Beautiful day, even won $4! Flag Content
Had a great day, course was in good shape, the greens were a little weird, kinda rough, a couple of them had stuff on the surface of the greens, not sure what it was, but it affected putting. The other greens were fine, putted fairly quick, pace of play was good, while we were always waiting, we still played in 4 1/2 hourse. Flag Content
