Gordon Lakes is on Fort Gordon, west of Augusta off Deans Bridge Road. It's open to public play, but the lower rates go to the military, active and retired. Reasonably priced parkland style layout, except Masters week when everything's expensive. Twenty-seven holes here, all fairly similar in design, the Lake View and Island View routed around a lake, and Pine View through the trees.. The Lake View plays to 73.6/131; the Island View, 71.9/126; Pine View, 72.9/131, all from the blue tees. Lake View and Island View were designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1976, and the Pine View, designed by Ault Clark, opened in 2001. All three nines have been renovated and updated, usually in good condition, mid-scale type of course and facilities, but the rates are right most of the year..
