GlenLakes Golf & Country Club, is located in Weeki Wachee, a few miles north of State Road 50 along U.S. Highway 19, north of Spring Hill. The course is private, but allows outside play, at really reasonable rates, as compared to some of the upscale public courses around. The course was designed by Ron Garl in the late 1980's, and has a Carolina feel to it with the pine tree lined fairways, and rolling hills and elevation change. It's a well designed and fun golf course, no matter your skill level, it won't beat you up, maybe a little more forgiving. It's 6,782 yards from the black tees, with a course rating of 71.4 and a slope rating of 138. and plays down to red tees of 5,020 yards, 68.7 course rating and 112 slope. The rough grows high and gnarly here, there's a good amount of trees, water in play, doglegs, blind shots, playing to mid sized greens with some undulation. Fun golf course, nice folks in the golf shop and clubhouse, a nice find, especially the lunch after golf in the clubhouse.

The conditions at Timbers at Troy have been above average all year. Some of the greens were a little choppy due to aearation, but they weren't all that bad. The fairways were in good shape and most of the tee boxes were well groomed. Paid $42 for greens fees and cart at 3pm on a weekday. Beautiful course with some of the best par threes anywhere. Fairways are a little hard but all in all one of the top tier courses in the area, except World Woods of course. This place never disappoints.
